Sunday morning I went to the Empalme tiangui (flea market) with friends and neighbors Pat and Leslie. In addition to the three ceramic objects pictured here I also got a jacket, great for the gym and to loll around the house, it is nylon with a cotton knit lining. The whole lot cost me less than $6. I never go there with the intention of buying but rarely come home empty handed. There is also fresh produce and this time was tempted by beets. The greens were especially good and I will cook the rest into a borscht.

Xmas 2008

This time we decided to spend Xmas in Tucson with Michael and Danielle. We saw their new guest room addition for the first time and were very impressed with the elegant and cosy decor. We also had gourmet meals prepared by Danielle, in between our multi-language scrabble games.Dave as usual was on his computer busy editing and sending his annual Xmas letter.
Danielle has a saguaro Xmas Tree. We had fun exchanging gifts but the big one for us was a flat screen HD TV that Dave had ordered online. It is now installed in our home in San Carlos and we are enjoying it daily.
